Solution

The correct option is D II and IV
Oogenesis is the process of formation of a mature female gamete called ova. It involves unequal division of cytoplasm which results in the secondary oocyte and three polar bodies. The ovum contains most of the cytoplasm which is rich in nutrients required for the early stages of development in the embryo. Spermatogenesis is the process of formation of sperms which involves equal division of cytoplasm. All four sperms have equal size.
Oogonia undergo mitosis and form primary oocytes. These cells start a meiotic division in fetal life and arrest at the prophase stage of meiosis I at birth. Oogonia cells are not formed and added after birth. A large number of these follicles degenerate from birth to puberty and that phenomenon is called follicular atresia. Therefore, at puberty, only 60,000 - 80,000 primary follicles are left in each ovary.
