Solution

The correct option is A I and II are correct
Therapeutic proteins are produced by recombinant DNA technology. This type of technology involves inserting the gene of interest encoding the desirable protein into a host cell. The gene of interest gets expressed by the host cells which is followed by their culture in bioreactors to enable mass production.

People suffering from diabetes mellitus have to be administered insulin exogenously. The insulin used from animals like cows and pigs produced allergic reactions in human beings. However, insulin hormone produced by the recombinant DNA technology using genetically modified bacteria is quite safe and effective.

RNA interference is the process of gene silencing which takes place in all eukaryotic organisms as a method of cellular defense. In this method the mRNA is cleaved or translation is halted by a double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) molecule. One of the strands of the dsRNA molecule is complementary to the target mRNA and it pairs with the target mRNA and silences it.
