Solution

Incomplete cartilaginous rings

C-shaped rings of hyaline cartilage are present in the human respiratory system which are incomplete at the dorsal surface.

The C-shaped cartilages starts from trachea and thereby prevents the trachea from collapsing and also provide flexibility.
And continues upto the initial bronchioles.

It further gives rise to terminal bronchioles to which alveoli or air sac are attached

They are very thin, irregular walled and vascularised bag-like structures which are in close contact with blood capillaries for easy exchange of gases

Presence of cartilage will create hindrance in exchange of gases.
