The correct option is C Decidua
The uterus is the site in a female body where the actual implantation is supposed to happen. For the uterus to be able to allow successful implantation, it must undergo some developmental changes. After the blastocyst attaches itself to the endometrial lining of the uterus with the help of its outer trophoblast cells, the cells of the uterus multiply rapidly and cover the entire blastocyst. In this way, the blastocyst gets embedded inside the endometrium. Such an endometrium, which has an embryo embedded inside it, is called decidua. Or, we can say that the endometrium of a pregnant female is called decidua. The decidual cells are swollen because they contain extra quantities of food materials for the growing embryo.
After implantation, the blastocyst undergoes further rounds of development. The outer trophoblast layer can further be divided into two types of cells- the syncytiotrophoblast and the cytotrophoblast.
The blastocyst also has another layer of cells called the inner cell mass. They further divide to form two additional layers of cells. The top layer is called the epiblast and the bottom layer is called hypoblast. Together, epiblast and hypoblast are referred to as the bilaminar embryonic disc.
