Which of the following were consequences of the Industrial Revolution?
Mechanisation of industries in America.
Broadening of people's thought process.
Exploitation of the working class.
Rise of Capitalism and Socialism.
The correct options are
C Exploitation of the working class.
D Rise of Capitalism and Socialism.
The working class was exploited because of the simple fact that getting more work done meant that more profits could be gained. Factory owners made their labourers work for hours on end without much rest. This led to the development of Capitalism, and also its opposing force, Socialism. While Capitalism advocated laissez-faire policy of market demand and supply, Socialism demanded that there be rules to restrict the amount of time labourers worked in factories.
Mechanisation in America was a consequence of immigration and not of the Revolution by itself.
Also, the Renaissance was a key factor that brought about open-minded thinking among the poeple.
