Solution

The correct option is D

Cortisone

Neurotransmitters are chemicals that are used to relay, amplify and modulate electrical signals between a neuron and another cell. Substances that act as neurotransmitters can be categorized into three major groups

  • amino acids (primarily glutamid acid, GABA, aspartic acid and glycine)
  • peptides (vasopressin, somatostatin, neurotensin, etc.)
  • monoamines (norephinephrine, dopamine and serotonin) plus acetylcholine

Cortisone is a steroid hormone that suppresses the immune system, thus reducing inflammation, pain and swelling at the site of the injury.
