  2. Inductive effect leads to development of ẟ- or ẟ+ on the carbon atom sharing a bond with the substituent. The fractional electronic charges on the two atoms in a polar covalent bond are called partial charges and are denoted by ẟ+/ẟ- (delta).
  3. As distance increases, strength of Inductive effect decreases.
