Which separation technique will you apply for the separation of the following mixture?
Wheat grains from husk
The separation technique applied for the separation of wheat grains from the husk is winnowing.
Winnowing: The process of separating the lighter component of the mixture with the help of the blowing wind is known as winnowing.
Principle: Due to the difference in the weight or densities of the components of the mixture, the wind carries away the lighter component (husk or chaff here) and the heavier component (wheat grains) falls vertically when the wheat grains with husk are dropped from a height.
