Meiosis:

In this type of cell division, the parent cell divides into four daughter cells, each having half chromosomes as the original cell.

Stages of meiosis:

  1. The above objectives are met during meiosis through a two-step division process: meiosis I and meiosis II.
  2. Meiosis I and II are further divided into four steps each.

Ovulated egg:

  1. The process through which an egg is released out from the ovaries is referred to as ovulation.
  2. The egg that is released is known as an ovulated egg.
  3. Following ovulation, the egg is arrested in meiosis II metaphase II till fertilization.
