Which substances in a sample are detected by direct and indirect ELISA respectively?

Open in App
Solution

There are three types of ELISA which are used for the detection of the antigens and antibodies from the sample of the diseased person. The direct form of ELISA is used for the detection of specific antibody-to-antigen reactions and helps to eliminate cross-reactivity between another antibody. The indirect form of ELISA is used for the detection of the total antibodies in a sample which is produced against the antigen in the diseased person.
