Two of its designations are:
(i) Route clerk: Route clerk lays down the sequence or path that each operation has to follow for the completion of a particular job. He decides the exact route through which work travels from machine to machine.
(ii) Time and cost clerk: He frames the time table for doing various jobs and maintains the records of the cost work.
