Which type of bacteria is present in our body and how many types of bacteria is present in nature

Dear student,

A variety of bacteria are found in human body. A few of them are - Klebsiella, Staphylococcus, Enterococcus, Lactobacillus, Escherichia etc. Some of them are beneficial (like the ones found in the gut) whereas some are pathogenic.

Based on their shape , bacteria that are present in nature can be classified into 5 types-
1. spherical (cocci),
2. rod (bacilli),
3. spiral (spirilla),
4. comma (vibrios)
5. corkscrew (spirochaetes).
Moreover, they can exist as single cells, in pairs, in chains or in clusters.
