Azad Hind Fauj, an armed force was formed by Indian nationalists and Imperial Japan in 1942 in Southeast Asia during World War II. The aim of its creation was to secure Indian independence from British rule.
The army was formed for the very first time in 1942 under Captain Mohan Singh. Due to differences in leadership This first INA collapsed and was disbanded after differences between the INA leadership and he Japanese military over its role in Japan's war in Asia. Looking at this state of INA, Rash Behari Bose handed over INA to Subhas Chandra Bose. Under his leadership, INA was revived in 1943 and was declared to be Bose’s army.
