  1. Phage therapy (PT) is also called as bacteriophage therapy. It is used in viruses to treat bacterial infection.
  2. Bacterial viruses are also called phages or bacteriophages, and they only attack bacteria.
  3. These phages are harmless to people, animals, and plants.
  4. It can be said as bacteriophage are the natural enemies of bacteria. so these are used in phage therapy which is beneficial for humans, animals and plants.

Felix d’Herelle proposed phage therapy as a treatment for human infections.
