1) Johann Gutenberg developed the first known printing press in the early 1430s. He grew up on an agricultural estate and from his early childhood he watched olive and wine presses
2) The idea of olive press made him to invent printing press and the moulds which he saw in the making of trinkets made him to create metal types for the letters of alphabets.
3) This system was later perfected by Gutenberg in the year 1448.
