Part 1: Heredity in Mango plant
Mango plant is an angiosperm. It produces seeds which are formed by the fertilization of the male and female gamete (sexual reproduction).
During fertilization, the DNA of a mango which carries genes from the parent plant is passed onto the offspring .
These genes determine the traits/features of the offspring mango plant.
Therefore, as the DNA in the mango seed has the information about the genetic makeup of a mango plant.
Thus, mango seed gives rise to a mango plant.
