Question

Why a switch is always connected to the live wire of the cable?

Open in App
Solution

  1. The switch is the electrical circuit that provides current flowing in the electrical circuit.
  2. The electrical current flows through the neutral wire always for the zero potential, when the switch is off still it provides a high current and chances of getting a fatal shock.
  3. The electrical current flows through the live wire always for the high potential, if the switch is off then no current flow through the circuit in the live wire that's why the switch is connected to the live wire of the cable.
