Why AIDS is transferred from mother to child ?

The AIDS can be transferred from infected mother to baby before or during childbirth. During childbirth, the blood of infected mother may come in contact with the blood of child and transfer HIV into baby. Transmission may also occur via breast milk during lactation as milk may also contains viruses.
