Question

Why aircraft tyres are made slightly conducting?

Open in App
Solution

As you know when a plane lands or takes off it creates lots of friction with the road which leads to accumulation of charges on the tire.
In such a situation. a spark might be generated between the tires and a body at lower potential(usually the body). So, the tires are made of conducting rubber to dissipate the charges.
