Why amylose gives blue black appearance with iodine and amylopectin, glycogen give red colour?

Solution

As amylose has helical structure , in helix Iodine molecule trap and give blue black coloration. Whereas glycogen and amylopectin has linear structure in which iodine molecule can’t trap hence can’t give blue colour
