Question

why aquatic species are more comfortable in cold waters rather than in warm water?

Open in App
Solution

It is observed that higher the value of Henry's constant at a particular temperature, the lower is the solubility of the gas in the liquid. If temperature increases, Henry's constant increases and solubility of gaseous oxygen decreases. Hence, aquatic species are more comfortable in cold water compared to warm water.
