Why are aquatic species more comfortable in cold water in comparison to warm water?
As the temperature increases, the kinetic energy of the gas particles increases. Due to the increase in the kinetic energy of the gas particles, they can easily escape. This results in a low concentration of the gas in the liquid.
So, lower temperatures favour the dissolution of gases in liquid.
Thus, in cold water, since the temperature is comparatively less, the solubility of oxygen gas will be more.
Hence, aquatic species are more comfortable in cold water in comparison to warm water.
