why are gonads called organs and endocrine glands?

Dear student,
Gonads are called reproductive organs because they releases gametes like ovum and sperm. They are also called endocrine gland because they releases hormones like estrogen and androgen which are released into nearby capillaries. They also have exocrine function as they releases gametes which travels through ducts.
