Question

Why are people advised not to stand near fast moving trains?

Open in App
Solution

  • We know that air moves from higher to lower pressure region.
  • Also when a train moves with high speed it creates a region of low pressure.
  • Therefore, the air pressure behind the person becomes higher than the air pressure between the person and the train.
  • Due to these pressure differences, the force acts on the person towards the train and pushes the man towards the train.
  • Thus, people are advised not to stand near fast moving trains.
