pulses are a kind of leguminous plant .these plants occur in symbiotic relationship with rhizobia which form root nodules.atmospheric nitrogen fixation occurs in these root nodules which result in increasing fertility of soil by addding nitrogen to soil.so such plants are grown onm fields in between other plants to restore fertility of soil.
