Why are thermal power plants setup near oil fields?

Thermal power plants burn coal or oil to produce heat to produce steam which runs the turbine, which in turn runs the generator producing electricity. They require huge quantity of coal or oil for this purpose. So they are set up near coal or oil fields to ensure continuous supply without much of transportation costs and delays.
