Question

why blood and bones are called connective tissue ?

Open in App
Solution

A connective tissue has lot of matrix ( substance between the cells ). Matrix is the ground substance. Cells are far apart and the matrix also has fibres inside it.
This tissue structure is seen even in blood and bone.
In blood there is a lot of matrix (fluid) present in which cells are floating far apart from one another. The matrix which is also called plasma in bllod has proteins (fibrinogen) in dissolved form which becomes fibres at the time of blood clotting.
Bone has matrix which has lot of minerals in it.So it is solid and cells are far apart. There are also proteins present in the matrix as in the case of connective tissue.
