Question

Why buttermilk gets spoilled if kept in a copper or brass container?

Open in App
Solution

Buttermilk is sour in taste and is acidic in nature.
Acids in buttermilk may react with metal of the container in which they are kept. Therefore, they are not kept in metal containers made up of copper or brass. This will corrode the metal as well as spoil the buttermilk.
