Question

why copper nitrate is green in color although other copper salts are blue in color

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Copper salts are usually blue in colour, even copper nitrate is blue. If in any case it has been found to be green in colour it could be due to the formation of Copper hydroxide in it due to reaction with moisture(H2O) from the air.

Best wishes !
