There are several reasons/factors for the rising tribal resistance against the British raj. Some of them are:
  • Encroachments of ancestral lands from by foreigners.
  • Adivasis were forced to pay fines to the Forest Department.

  • Begar - System of forced labour in which adivasis were compelled to perform unpaid work for the government.
