Why do plants consider as the ultimate source of food?

Dear Student
The ultimate source of energy is the Sun. Only plants are capable of driving this energy and make their food by the process of photosynthesis. Hence they form the building block of food chain. All organisms directly or indirectly depend on plant for their food. Hence plants are considered as the ultimate source of food.
