Solution

The correct options are
B Due to the revolution of the earth around the sun
C Due to a tilt in the earth's axis
The seasons of the earth are due to the tilt in the earth's axis. The sun shines directly on the nothern hemisphere during one half of the journey around the sun and directly on the southern hemisphere during the second half of the journey, therefore causing seasons. Thus the reason for seasons is the tilt of the earth's axis and the revolution of earth around the sun. Although the orbit of the earth is elliptical and the earth is closer to the sun sometimes and farther away from it at other times, the relative change in distance throughout the year is quite insignificant as to make much difference in our weather.
