Question

Why do we need less effort to lift a load over an inclined plane as compared to lifting the load directly ?

Open in App
Solution

For an Inclined plane,
mechanical advantage = LE=length of inclined plane(l)height(h)

since l > h L > E
Hence we can say that less effort is required to lift a load over an individual plane because mechanical advantage increases.
