Why do women bleed at the end of the menstrual cycle?
The rich lining of uterus sheds along with the blood vessels.
The inner walls of uterus swell up to prepare themselves for receiving a fertilized egg. In case of an unfertilized egg, the uterus sheds this lining rich in blood vessels. Thus, the blood is rejected along with the unfertilized egg in the form of menstrual bleeding.
