Why do you mean by absorption of sound wave ?

Absorption of sound : When sound waves are absorbed by the material and we ca not hear them again, this is called, absorption of sound.
In absorption of sound the measured amount of energy removed from the sound wave as the wave passes through a given thickness of material. That is sound energy is converted into some other form like mechanical energy or heat energy
