Question

Why don't we see the sunlight directly in its seven shades i.e., VIBGYOR?

Open in App
Solution

Sunlight is a mixture of 7 colours i.e, Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red. As the light is a mixture of all these colours our brain cannot identify the colours separately, rather it perceives them as white. But if we need to see all the different colours we may use a prism in which light bends according to the wavelength of the colours.
