Both soaps and detergents are utilized for cleaning purposes. But detergents have some advantages over soaps.
Soap is manufactured from oil which is becoming scarce nowadays whereas synthetic detergents are manufactured from hydrocarbon obtained from petroleum. Therefore, detergents help us to save oils.
Soap is not used to wash in hard water but detergents can be used for washing in hard water.
The cleansing power of detergents is higher than soaps.
