Why heat is not considered as matter although we can feel it?

Dear Student,

Matter is something which occupies space and has mass. Heat is a form of energy. You can feel heat but you can not weigh the heat energy. Heat energy consists of infrared radiations. It does not occupy any space. Thus, heat energy is not matter.
