Question

Why helium solid as helium is an atom ?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,
At normal atmospheric pressure, helium does not solidify but at 25 atm of pressure, helium is a solid at 0.95 Kelvin. As the pressure rises, the temperature at which solid helium exists also rises. On helium becoming a solid it crystallized and all atoms hold themselves in a fixed arrangement with each other.
