Question

Why industriesare set up near sea ports, coal fields or temprate grasslands

Open in App
Solution

Industries are set up near sea ports so that transportation and trading of goods in huge bulk becomes easier and cheaper as well. Coal is the primary raw material and energy resource for heavy and large industries. To avoid cost of transportation of raw materials industries tend to set up near coal fields so that there can be easy and cheap access of coal.

Temperate grasslands are known for huge production of cereals such as wheat, barley, oats etc .to European countries and other parts of the world. Farming is more prominent in temperate grasslands than industrialisation.
