Why is cell called the structural and functional unit of life

Cell is a called as structural unit of life because all organisms are basically made up of cells.
Cells are arranged togetehr in a particular fashion , that form tissues, and other levels of organizations, such as organs and organ systems. So basically All living organisms are made of these small units, cells, thus are called as structural unit of life.

Cell is called functional unit of life, because cells are constantly working to keep organisms alive. They are centers of all biological activities. various biochemical cycles that include energy making , synthesis of proteins and other biomolecules goes on in cells. Allthese cells work together to keep organism and its body functioning. Thus cell is also called as functional unit of life.
