Why is Charles Darwin theory of classifications not accepted?

Darwin did not gave any theory on classification, rather he gave a theory of evolution(widely accepted).He is considered the founder of the school of “evolutionary taxonomy” of the Modern Synthesis.Also, Darwin recognized genealogy(studying and tracing line of descent) and similarity as dual, synergistic criteria for classification.
