Question

Why is CO2 more soluble in aqueous NaOH than in water?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

CO2 is more soluble in NaOH than water due to formation of Na2CO3 which is more soluble. H2CO3 is formed in case of water which is much less soluble than Na2CO3.
Hence, CO2 is more soluble in NaOH.
