Open in App
Solution

Cyanobacteria:

Blue-Green Algae are a type of photosynthetic bacteria that can be single cells or colonies and are also known as Cyanobacteria.

Importance of cyanobacteria:

  1. Organic processes are carried out by cyanobacteria such as Anabaena, Nostoc, Plectonema, and other non-symbiotic prokaryotes.
  2. Rice fields are ideal for the growth of cyanobacteria, so using cyanobacteria in paddy fields increases rice assembly.
  3. The Azolla is possibly a floating water fern. Azolla leaves contain the cyanobacteria Anabaena azollae, which fix atmospheric nitrogen.
