Why is hot concentrated Sulphuric acid not used in the preparation of Hydrogen ?

Concentrated Sulphuric acid is not used in this reaction as it will produce $S O_{2}$ gas instead of $H_{2}$ gas. Hydrogen is prepared by the electrolysis water using the Platinum electrode. Here Sulphuric acid is used to acidify the Water. Hydrogen gas is released at cathode and oxygen gas is released at the anode.
