An ideal fuel should have the following characteristics :
1) It should be cheap and easily available
2) It should have a high calorific value
3) It should be eco-friendly and not cause pollution
4) It should be easy to handle, transport and store
5) It should burn smoothly
6) It should have a proper ignition temperature - neither too high nor too low.
It is really hard to find all the above characteristics in a single fuel, hence an ideal fuel as such does not exist. However, fuels like LPG, CNG, biogas are considered good fuels as they fulfill many of the above requirements.
this is the reason why every fuel can't be an 'ideal fuel' because it doesn't have any of these qualities.
