Why is the force of attraction less in water molecule, is it because of the large spaces or because the individual force of attraction of a water molecule is weaker than solid molecules?

Solution

Water molecule is liquid and in liquid the force of attraction between the molecule is less compared to solid. That is why there are space between the molecules.
