Why is the testis located outside the male human body and not inside.

This is to facilitate the production of sperm ,since the testes need a temperature which is 2–3°C less than the normal body temperature in order to produce sperm. Therefore the scrotum in which the testes lie outside the abdominal cavity acts like a thermoregulator for it
