Question

Why is the work done on an object moving with uniform circular motion zero?

Open in App
Solution

Yes, you are right, it is zero.
In uniform circular motion, only the direction of the velocity is change, because the force is at right angles to the movement. Since the movement of body is always perpendicular to the centripetal force applied on it and there is no displacement in direction of force, so no work is being done and energy remains constant.
