Why parallrl lcr is called rejector circuit and series lcr circuit is called acceptor circuit?Explain with example of each.

Dear student, The series resonant circuit is called an acceptor circuit because if the applied voltage consists of a large number of frequencies, the circuit shall accept maximum current only for the resonant frequency and shall reject all the other frequencies. The parallel resonance circuit are used to block the currents of undesired frequencies and hence for this reason it is called a rejector circuit. Regards
